What is a Mothers Helper?
A mothers helper usually supports a stay at home parent with the primary role of caring for children whilst the parent is around to supervise. Typically a mother’s helper is a younger, less experienced nanny who wishes to gain experience in working with children.
The helper often assists with general household duties such as light housework, the running of errands and meal preparation. It is not uncommon for parents to leave the mothers helper with the sole care of her children for short periods of time.
Why use a Mothers Helper?
Carers in mothers helper roles are generally paid less than nannies as they are looking to gain experience whilst under the guidance of a parent.
Mothers helpers are perfect for when you just need a little extra help around the house.
Often families opt for mothers helpers after the birth of a new child. This allows mum to spend a little bit of extra time with bub whilst being confident that her other children are being taken care of and given some special attention too!
All of our mothers helpers have:
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid Qualification
- Passion for working with children
